Profile of an initiative focused on small-holder farmers

Greenvest Environmental Initiative is a US$5m fund that provides funding to small-holder farmers to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices. It focuses on identifying, funding and empowering climate-smart farmers and providing products and services that mitigate and reduce the effects of climate change on the Agricultural value-chain in Nigeria, and subsequently, other African countries.

Our Target

Raise an initial US$5m

Raise an initial US$5m in a blended fund from development finance institutions, private sector funders and philanthropic foundations

Enable small farmers

Enable one million small-holder farmers to access the fund by 2030

Improve food security

Improve the contribution of small-holder farmers to food security through the provision of inputs

Increase small farmers income

Triple the income of the small-holder farmers to an average of $10/day

Empower female farmers

Empower female farmers through land acquisition programs, saving & loans, climate-based solution and climate-smart agricultural training programs
